Hoysted Family History
Do you want a Hoysted.com email address?
I ocurred to me the other day that readers of this site might be interested in having an email address of the form yourname@hoysted.com Since I own the hoysted.com domain, this is easy for me to arrange. There'd be no fee, you just need to let me know:
a) what name you want to the left of the '@',
b) where you want email sent to that address to go, and
c) where you fit in the family tree (your person ID from the database is ideal).
Of course, some names are already taken but I'll do my best to accommodate what you need.
Hoysted Roots in Ireland
In October 1998, Helen and I spent some time in Ireland looking up Hoysted family connections. This post was first published on my very first website where it has laid untended and ignored these past six years. I thought it was about time I salvaged it, so the entire post is reproduced here. For obvious reasons, we take care not to publish detailed information about living individuals. However, for those with a legitimate genealogical interest in the family data on this site, this restriction can be frustrating.
So, if you have a genuine need to see the full data, then email me (fred@hoysted.com) and I'll set you up with a logon that will give you this access. As a general rule, we will be happy to give access to anyone whose own record appears in the database. We may grant access to others on a case-by-case basis.
Robert Barton Hoysted
Thanks to John Hoysted, I've been able to update, correct and add photos to an important branch of the Hoysted family in Australia: the decendants of Robert Barton Hoysted.

Robert Barton Hoysted. b. 1851 d. 29 October, 1920
Robert was born in Ireland in 1851, emigrated to Australia where he had nine children by his wife Emma and was a jockey and horse trainer. The Hoysteds are, of course, well known in equestrian circles in Australia.
Welcome to the new Family History database
A good starting point for to look at the Hoysted family history is John Hoysted and Ann Richardson. They lived in County Kildare, Ireland, and it is from them that two main branches of the family descended. The largest of these now lives in Australia, the other branch based in Ireland and the UK.
My own family lives in the UK, though I am currently in the US.
Please do get in touch if you have Hoysted information you want to add to, or correct in, this database: fred@hoysted.com
